This role sits within the environmental management team and is to support the implementation of the EIA/EMMP requirement for the project. This includes working with internal teams, governmental agencies and stakeholders to implement processes and measures that will facilitate the achievement of the organisation’s strategic environmental goals to develop this precinct in a responsible way.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Management System:

       Provide advisory support to Design teams and Project Management teams on best environmental management practices for implementation in compliance to the EIA/EMMP requirements.

       Implement and maintain processes and systems to guide compliance to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and relevant regulations;

       Liaison amongst the various stakeholders such as EAP, regulator, inhouse teams and contractors to bridge understanding of environmental requirements.

       Manage the EM forum comprises the various Environmental Managers from contractors for capability development.


Project Management:

       Manage monitoring of environmental aspects (air, water quality, noise, earth control, vector) to track compliance and pre-empt environmental impacts;

       Conduct compliance audits to ensure contractors’ compliance and promote the deployment of best environmental management practices across sites; and

       Analyse and track environmental performance of contractors and preparation of monthly environmental reports. Advise proactive environmental management measures with the analysis.


Environmental Communications:

       Drive capacity and awareness building activities or campaigns to inculcate environmental protection amongst workers on site to management and staff;

       Contribute to community, educational and outreach activities for visitors to the attractions and other relevant stakeholders


Job Requirements:

       A related degree in environmental management, science or engineering.

       Ability to work both independently and across teams.

       Has a good working attitude and is willing to adapt to novel situation.

       Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills for construction environment.

       Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, including government agencies and environment groups.

       6 to 10 years relevant experience in managing/auditing/advising construction projects with emphasis in environmental protection.

       Good network and rapport with the local nature community and other environmental groups is preferred.

       Strong in analytical skills and be able to understand the balance between development and environmental considerations.

       Demonstrated experience of or willingness for working in forested/outdoor environment for extended periods.
