You will be one of the early team members to help define, orchestrate and deliver upon Mandai Wildlife Group's long term data strategy.  You are a seasoned leader having led previous data transformation initiatives in a large national or multinational organizational setting.

 

Reporting to the Vice President (Transformation Office) this role will undertake the following responsibilities.

Job Description

Mandai Wildlife Group is seeking a Data Transformation Lead to join our team to lead our data transformation. You will play a key role balancing priorities aligning to enterprise requirements. Along with your strong business acumen you can easily translate business needs into technical deliverables and communicate in simple language with cross functional stakeholders to secure buy-in. This is a day-to-day hands-on role that will evolve for over time.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The Data Transformation Lead will have the global responsibility for developing and leading the execution of data management strategies across the Mandai Wildlife Group. You will use your data analysis experience, business acumen and creativity to help the organisation shape the data and analytics strategy and develop the architecture and governance of its data.

As a key member of the Group Transformation office, you will work closely with members of the Strategy & Innovation division and with other business units to obtain their buy-in to support and implement organisation wide data transformation, and to achieve the group’s long terms goals in leveraging data insights.

Under minimal direction, this position will

  • Lead the planning, building and execution of data strategies that align with business line objectives and generate new value for the organisation and customers in achieving its triple bottom line goals of Performance, People and Planet.
  • Promote data-led thought leadership. Establish a data-driven culture across the organization and promote best practices for data and analytics.
  • Understand the current business model and develop a better forecasting model.
  • Develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, standards, and programmes
  • Build a framework for data integration.
  • Audit existing data structures and taxonomies, status of cleansing and curation, data management and access; and design robust processes and systems.
  • Help broker complex data strategy decisions while improving our capabilities.
  • Work with data engineers to continuously innovate, automate existing manual processes and seek out new opportunities.
  • Responsible for system integration and user acceptance testing of related system and integration implementations
  • Design and produce project trackers; provide weekly reporting updates for better visibility.

 

Skills/ Experience:

  • Masters / Doctorate in Computer / Information Sciences /Engineering from reputed universities or equivalent experience
  • At least  8+ years of relevant IT / Data experience, of which the past 3-5 years should be in a leadership role.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving and conceptualisation skills.
  • Prior experience in building Group-level data and analytics strategy preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in at least 2 of the following:  data management, data architecture, analytics, data visualisation, data science, data engineering data security, data privacy and compliance/ethical standards.
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of Group’s diverse businesses, including products, services, systems, sales processes, operations, delivery models, relationship models, financial models and competitive landscape
  • Strong knowledge of existing / emerging disruptive technologies to enable business insights and intelligence
  • Ability to lead and oversee multiple, concurrent projects. Strong prioritising, planning, man-management and organisation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and comfortable with engaging multiple and diverse stakeholders
  • Resourceful, independent and motivated
