Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Infrastructure to lead our IT infrastructure team. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this role is responsible for the deployment, operations, and maintenance of Mandai's on-premise IT infrastructure across the entire 126-hectare precinct. The IT infrastructure covers data centers, connectivity, compute, storage, and end-user computing. With direct oversight of Mandai’s cybersecurity, this person is also responsible for the overall information security of Mandai, covering detection, protection, response, recovery, and user awareness and learning. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, information security, technology governance and compliance, extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure for large-scale properties, and a strong background in IT leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the IT infrastructure team.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure effective management of data centers, connectivity (wired and wireless), compute, storage, and end user computing.

2. Operational Management:

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of all infrastructure components.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and services.
  • Manage infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed solutions, adjusting as necessary to ensure they continue to meet business needs

3. Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.

4. Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with ITIL, information security, and IT general controls.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the organization's data and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the information security team to address vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their infrastructure needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Communicate infrastructure status, projects, and issues to the CIO and other executive leaders.

6. Market Analysis: Keep abreast of market trends, emerging and nascent technologies like containers and serverless technology, and competitive landscapes to inform product strategy and innovation.

 

7. Budget and Resource Management: Manage the IT infrastructure budget and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

 

8. Vendor Management: Assess and manage the deliverables of third-party vendors. Collaborate with procurement to ensure vendors meet requirements.

 

9. Information security: With direct oversight of Mandai’s cybersecurity, this person is responsible for the overall information security of Mandai, covering detection, protection, response, recovery, and user awareness and learning.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in management or leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in managing infrastructure for large properties.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL, information security, and IT general controls and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
