Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is the holding company of the award-winning attractions Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari and Singapore Zoo. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

1. Ensure Regulatory Compliance
• Review, organise and provide guidance on plans.
• Propose and implement control measures.
• Conduct routine surveillance and inspections in the parks.

2. Standards & Management Systems
• Conduct internal audits, gap analysis, root cause identification and recommend corrective actions for EHS Management System in accordance with ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain EHS documents for ISO14001 and ISO45001 Certification.
• Monitor and provide guidance to departments on contractor management procedure to ensure outsourced processes are consistent with legal and EHS Management System requirements.
• Implement EHS programme to continual improve EHS Management System.

3. Management Reporting & Incident Investigations
• Report at management meetings on departments’ EHS matters.
• Conduct investigations for workplace incidents, dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases, determine the root causes and recommend corrective actions.

4. Training & Awareness Programmes
• Keep abreast with local EHS related legislations.
• Conduct EHS training and implement awareness programme to improve EHS competency and awareness.
• Implement internal and external EHS communication processes to communicate EHS information and enable continuous improvements.
• Monitor and provide guidance to departments on the management of change procedure to ensure identification of consequences due to changes and mitigation of any adverse effects.

Emergency Preparedness & Response
• Review and provide guidance to departments on adequacy of emergency preparedness and response.
• Facilitate the planning, design, conduct and evaluation of emergency drills and exercises.
• Act as key Secretariat Team member for Crisis Management.

 

Requirements:
• Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or relevant fields.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Possess valid certification for WSHO. Candidates with valid certifications for FSM and ECO will have an advantage.
• Passion for building capacity on EHS matters at organisational, departmental and individual levels.
• Strong in verbal and written communication.
• Strong facilitation and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and across various levels of seniority.
• Able to work independently while being an excellent team player.
• Meticulous, confident and resourceful.
