Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is the holding company of the award-winning attractions Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari and Singapore Zoo. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Brand & Communications, you will help drive an integrated communications strategy to inform, educate and grow the public’s affinity with the work we do and the unique experiences we commit to delivering responsibly and ethically.

You will also work with internal divisions to roll out a strategic stakeholder communications programme for the local community and key international markets.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualise and develop editorial content for brand engagement and storytelling across different channels including media dissemination.
  • Drive a media publicity programme — from calendar-led corporate and marketing events to creating PR-led activities - that generate awareness, educate and build positive perception of the overall rejuvenation of Mandai into an integrated nature and wildlife precinct and a ‘conscious destination’.
  • Manage/influence channels to engage directly with target audiences including social media and EDMs. 
  • Build strong relations with mainstream media, influencers and other key external partners.
  • Nurture firm relations with internal business partners and divisions.
  • Manage agency relationships and ensure smooth collaboration across partners.
  • Plan and facilitate filming and photo shoots, and media queries across all four WRS operating parks, with particular focus on Singapore Zoo and River Safari.
  • Manage monthly reports

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree in mass communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in a corporate communications / public relations function for an established brand or destination. 
  • Experience in executing integrated communications strategies across traditional media and social media channels. 
  • Competent in the use of social media and content development for brand engagement and storytelling.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with acute news sense and the ability to angle stories to interest media.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, thus fluency in English is required
  • Added advantage for candidates who can speak/write Chinese to manage liaison with media and translation of articles.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape, with a good grasp of the latest social media trends and developments.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills for effective issues management.
  • Driven, proactive and resourceful and able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Team player who is able to collaborate effectively cross-functionally and with external stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with strong problem solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Meticulous, with an eye for details.
  • Able to work on occasional weekends and public holidays.
  • Added advantage if candidates possess:
    • Infectious enthusiasm and optimism.
    • Experience in issues management and crisis communications.
    • Agency background or experience in managing agencies.
