Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

 

Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

 

The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.

 

Mandai X is the growth accelerator and venture building arm of Mandai Wildlife Group that sparks, catalyses and accelerates innovative ventures in completely new domains that drive growth and impact at scale. 

 

This role reports to the CEO of Mandai Nature and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to support the growth and generation of funding resources for Mandai Nature. The candidate will be responsible for identifying new funding opportunities, as well as oversee the development and implementation of the overall fundraising, communications and strategic partnerships direction for Mandai Nature.

 

This fulltime position will be based in Singapore.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Fundraising Strategy and Execution

 

  • Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to meet the annual goals, incorporating diverse fundraising streams such as individual donors, corporate partnerships, grants, and events.
  • Work closely with Mandai Wildlife Groups Partnerships team to ensure alignment and enable joint fundraising efforts.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and philanthropic organisations to maximise financial support.
  • Map and identify potential new donors (i.e., creating donor profiles), as well as fundraising and partnership opportunities through market research.
  • Help CEO in developing a communication toolkit for fundraising and partnership engagement.

 

Communications

 

  1. Corporate communications and Brand management:

 

  • Grow awareness and appeal for Mandai Nature and strengthen its brand connections.
  • Work closely with Mandai Wildlife Group's Brand team on applications and manifest Mandai Nature's values, tone of voice and personality consistently
  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance the organisation’s visibility and brand.
  • Oversee all aspects of media management work for Mandai Nature.
  • Develop necessary corporate level collateral and assets in support of Mandai Nature key events, which includes both external and internal facing events.

 

  1. Conservation communications

 

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to effectively develop and implement communications plans that deliver impactful communication.
  • Develop and manage social media platform presence for Mandai Nature in terms of content calendaring and content management.

 

 

Budget oversight and people management

 

  • Develop and manage budgets related to fundraising, communications, and strategic partnerships, ensuring responsible and efficient use of resources.
  • Manage existing and new staff supporting communications and fundraising efforts.

 

Perform other duties as required.

 

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

The person in this position must have strong interpersonal skills and display evidence of good leadership, business partnering, professional judgment, and influencing skills. S/He must be familiar with working in Asia and sensitive to its cultural complexities. S/he must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable participating both as an effective individual contributor and as a leader, facilitator and listener in group settings. S/He must have significant attention to detail, be well organized, self-motivated, resourceful, effective and efficient at coordinating multiple resources to get things done; can work on multiple tasks at multiple levels and switch between them; can foresee and plan around obstacles.

 

  • University Degree or related equivalent combination of education with minimum [10] years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing successful fundraising campaigns and achieving fundraising targets.  
  • String understanding of brand management, public relations, and effective communication strategies.
  • Effective “roll up the sleeves” work ethic. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse, multi-cultural teams. Must be solution-oriented, and have strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiar with conservation and / or non-profit sector is preferred.
  • A strong network of contacts within the corporates, major gifts and family offices is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create persuasive pitch materials and presentations.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels.
