Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.
Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.
Mandai Global, an entity that is part of the Group, will establish and operate new lines of business anchored in creating positive outcomes for nature and wildlife.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Health & Safety (H&S)
· Ensure regulatory compliance for Mandai Wildlife Reserve, including review of plans, implementation of control measures and routine inspections.
· Conduct internal audits, gap analysis, root cause identification and recommend corrective actions for H&S Management System and incidents.
· Prepare, update and liaise on plans/reports as required by local statutory bodies.
· Respond to emergencies, investigate incidents and propose corrective actions.
· Coordinate external audits and maintain documents for ISO45001/bizSAFE certification.
· Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance to requirements.
· Conduct training and awareness programmes to improve stakeholders’ competencies and awareness, including on change procedures.
· Implement processes, including contractor management, for works leading to operation of new parks/facilities.
· Perform compliance audits and inspections to ensure new parks/facilities comply with occupier and statutory requirements.
· Conduct management reporting and keep abreast with local legislations.
2. Fire Safety
· Appointed as Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and perform FSM duties for new parks/facilities.
· Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plan (ERP) for new parks/facilities.
· Prepare and submit annual fire safety report.
· Review and provide guidance to stakeholders on adequacy of emergency preparedness and response.
· Facilitate the planning, design, conduct and evaluation of emergency drills and exercises.
· Be a key secretariat team member for crisis management.
3. Other relevant duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
· At least 5 years of relevant experience.
· Degree in Health and Safety or relevant fields.
· Valid certification for Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and Fire Safety Manager (FSM).
· Valid certification for ISO 45000 Lead Auditor will be an advantage.
· Strong business acumen with a passion for building capacity on H&S matters at organisational, departmental and individual levels.
· Strong verbal and written communications, and facilitation skills.
· Strong negotiation skills and able to build strong relationships with stakeholders of various levels across the organisation.
· Able to work independently while being an excellent team player.
