Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

 

Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

 

The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.

 

Mandai Global, an entity that is part of the Group, will establish and operate new lines of business anchored in creating positive outcomes for nature and wildlife.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on Mobile Garage Bin (MGB)/ Open Top Container, including activating mobilisation with waste service vendors.
  • Assist in tender related tasks such as and not limited to, conducting briefings and site visits on contract specifications, arranging kick-off meetings, and site orientation with the awarded vendors upon contract commencement.
  • Liaise and coordinate with  stakeholders and vendors for operations and billing matters.
  • Organise joint inspections with stakeholders and vendors to ensure mandatory compliance of daily waste operations.
  • Attend Sustainability Operation Work Group meetings and update on waste related initiatives, where required.
  • Monitor Horticulture waste chipping matters (i.e. repairing and routine servicing to ensure smooth, efficient, and productive chipping operation).
  • Maintain daily quantity and location changes of MGBs in system.
  • Daily monitoring of MGBs for both animal and general waste for all parks, and ensuring follow up where required.
  • Collate Monthly Waste Data and Quarterly Environmental Data for submission to Sustainable Solutions Department.
  • Analyse and generate reports on monthly animal, general and horticulture waste data.
  • Ensure proper registration and archival of EHS related matters (i.e. Incident Reporting, Public Liability etc) are executed and maintained in SharePoint.
  • Review monthly recycling rate as KPI set and propose adjustment of target chipping rate in consultation with Sustainable Solutions department.
  • Prepare necessary presentation decks in relation to waste management, when required.
  •  Other relevant duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Applied Science / Environmental Services / Waste Management or WSQ certified Waste Management Manager.
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in Sustainability waste management.
  • Prior experience in waste management operations will be an added advantage.
  • Able to work on weekends and public holidays, where required.
  • Meticulous, analytical and an effective team player.
  • Good interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interest in Environmentally friendly business.
