Mandai Park Holdings (MPH) is driving the rejuvenation of Mandai precinct into an integrated nature and wildlife destination, through its development arm, Mandai Park Development (MPD). As champions for wildlife, we lead actions to protect them, inspire a love for wildlife and spark a sense of wonder in everyone, regardless of our roles.

 

Two new wildlife parks – a bird park and Rainforest Park –, nature-themed indoor attractions and an eco-friendly resort will be integrated into the precinct as part of our Mandai rejuvenation plan.

You will be one of the early team members to help define, orchestrate and deliver upon Mandai’s long term data strategy.  You are a seasoned leader having lead previous data transformation initiatives in a large national or multinational organizational setting.

 

Reporting to the Vice President (Transformation Office) this role will undertake the following responsibilities.

Job Description

Wildlife Reserves Singapore is seeking a Data Transformation Lead to join our team and lead our data analytics and intelligence roadmap and strategy. You will play a key role balancing priorities and initiatives and aligning to enterprise requirements where needed and helping us go from 0 to 1 and beyond.  Along with your strong business acumen you can easily translate business needs into technical deliverables in simple language. You are comfortable communicating with cross functional stakeholders to secure buy-in and approvals.  This is a day-to-day hands-on role that will evolve for over time.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The Data Transformation Lead will have the global responsibility for developing and leading the execution of data management strategies across the Mandai group. You will use your data analysis experience, business acumen and creativity to help the organisation shape the data and analytics strategy and develop the architecture and governance of its data.

 

As a key member of the Transformation office under the Strategy & Innovation Division, you will work closely with members of the division and with other business units to obtain buy-in from key stakeholders to support and implement organisation wide data transformation. You will lead and build a team of data experts and work collaboratively with the business units to achieve the group’s long terms goals through leveraging its data and insight capabilities and use a data-driven approach to deepen our understanding of our fast-growing business and sharpen decision-making.

In this role, you will build scalable solutions that will help make data relevant to current and historical performance and visualizing the key opportunities for growth. Using your strong technical skills, you will build tools to automate reporting and dashboard updates that the leadership team can quickly and accurately see how their businesses are performing. You will champion the broader community of BI analysts and ensure group wide consistency and practices. You’ll be involved in defining user requirements, building & maintaining the data infrastructure, designing reports, & ensuring timely delivery to the end users.

 

Under minimal direction, this position will

·          Lead the planning, building and execution of data strategies that align with business line objectives and generate new value for the organisation and customers in achieving its triple bottom line goals of Performance, People and Planet.

·          Promote data-led thought leadership. Establish a data-driven culture across the organization and promote best practices for data and analytics. Cross-Functional collaboration, with stakeholders from Strategy & Innovation, Commercial, IT, and Legal

·          Understand the current business model, improve on or develop a better forecast model to predict business performance.

·          Develop, review and implement data strategy, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and programmes

·          Build a framework for integration of customer data and data from external, third-party sources.

·          Build data use policies and tools for governance and compliance across group entities and ensure that all group companies meet legal and contractual obligations for data protection and security policies

·          Work with the cross functional teams throughout the organisation to create work that distils multiple sources of information into a cohesive strategy and ensure that the strategy is understood and integrated into the business.

·          Audit existing data structures and taxonomies, status of cleansing and curation, data management and access; and design robust processes and systems.

·          Influence and help to broker complex data strategy decisions while improving our capabilities

·          Leads and manages the data engineers to collaborate and devise performance measure frameworks and incorporate learnings into documentations and briefs. Further develop data and insight capabilities, leading us to use of AI/ML, and other advanced tools across various data sets

·          Work with data engineers to continuously innovate, automate existing manual processes and seek out new opportunities.

·          Responsible for system integration and user acceptance testing of related system and integration implementations

·          Proactively identify patterns or trends in the business and anticipate potential problems; and work with wider teams to develop preventative measures.

·          Design and produce project trackers; provide weekly reporting updates for better visibility.

 

Skills/ Experience:

·          Masters / Doctorate in Computer / Information Sciences /Engineering from reputed universities or equivalent experience

·          At least  8+ years of relevant IT / Data experience, of which the past 3-5 years should be in a leadership role.

·          Strong strategic thinking and conceptualisation skills.

·          Prior experience in building Group-level data and analytics strategy preferred.

·          Subject matter expertise in at least 2 of the following:  data management, data architecture, analytics, data visualisation, data science, data engineering data security, data privacy and compliance/ethical standards.

·          Ability to develop a deep understanding of Group’s diverse businesses, including products, services, systems, sales processes, operations, delivery models, relationship models, financial models and competitive landscape

·          Strong knowledge of existing / emerging disruptive technologies to enable business insights and intelligence

·          Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

·          Ability to lead and oversee multiple, concurrent projects. Strong prioritising, planning, man-management and organisation skills

·          Good interpersonal skills and comfortable with engaging multiple and diverse stakeholders

·          Resourceful, independent and motivated
