The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

 

Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

 

The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.

 

Mandai Global, an entity that is part of the Group, will establish and operate new lines of business anchored in creating positive outcomes for nature and wildlife.

 

We are seeking for a highly meticulous and driven individual to be part of our Finance (Development) team. The Senior Manager, Finance plays a supporting role to the AVP, Finance in ensuring compliance for all the accounting and tax matters of the project. This is a 1 year contract role.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Fixed Assets Management

·       Set up and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) of the fixed assets for proper recording of fixed assets in SAP. 

·       Ensure complete asset listing by liaising with the relevant parties e.g. Contracts team, Quantity Surveyor (QS), Project Directors and Project team.

·       Responsible for the capitalization of assets under construction.  Recommend appropriate asset class for categorization of assets.

·       Ensure proper tagging of assets. 

·       Maintain policy for component depreciation of the Assets under Construction.

·       Monitor and co-ordinate Capital Allowance reports with consultants.

·       Track all tax issues in relation to fixed assets, e.g. Capital Allowance, Deferred Tax etc

·       Preparation of fixed assets schedules.

Drafting of Financial Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

·       Responsible for drafting of MPD financial policies and SOPs.  Align principles with WRS”s existing policies and SOP.

Monthly / Quarterly Reporting

·       Assist the team on preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting.

Statutory Audit

·       Assist the team on preparation of statutory audit, including but not limited to Audit schedules, etc.

Other Accounting Related Matters

·       Assist as backup for AVP Finance.

·       Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by VP Finance.

Job Requirements:

·       Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualifications.

·       At least 5 years of accounting experience in asset management (particularly in capitalisation of self-constructed assets). 

·       Working knowledge on capital allowance and deferred tax pertaining to fixed assets.

·       Good knowledge of SAP systems is required.

·       High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Highly meticulous and strong cost control focus. Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly matrix environment, while meeting tight deadlines.

·       Strong communication skills – ability to communicate financial matters effectively to non-financial managers. Ability to work as a team and to develop financial knowledge and commercial awareness among the project team.

·       Strong command of English – ability to draft clear and comprehensible policies and SOPs.

·       Strong team player.  Willing to roll up sleeves and perform transactional tasks and update excel reports.
